Position Overview


The Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and industry certifications including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. This role conducts quality inspections, supports internal and external audits, analyzes quality data, and collaborates cross-functionally to drive product and process improvements. The Quality Specialist plays a key role in upholding product integrity, reducing defects, and enhancing overall customer satisfaction.
 

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with the Quality Manager to develop, implement, communicate, and maintain quality system procedures and standards in compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in developing and analyzing reports on quality metrics and performance to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct Incoming Quality Control (IQC) and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) inspections to verify product quality, ensuring all products and processes meet internal and customer requirements.
  • Perform internal audits to monitor compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and company standards, preparing for and responding to both internal and customer audits.
  • Review and approve analytical data throughout the electrolyte manufacturing process, documenting inspection results and maintaining detailed records for traceability and compliance.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, defects, and areas for improvement, addressing any non-conformance issues and supporting problem-solving activities related to corrective and preventive actions.
  • Interface with customer quality representatives to address issues, concerns, and feedback, providing quality-related support to other departments as needed.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all company and industry safety standards, including OSHA regulations.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks and activities as directed by the Quality Supervisor to support plant operations.
  • Manage and control internal and external changes, including coordination of 4M change processes with customers when customer approval is required.
  • Manage internal standards and related documentation.
     
Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role within an ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 certified environment preferred.
  • Experience in the chemical, automotive, or battery materials industry is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, MSA, SPC) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
  • Bilingual fluency in Korean and English required.
