Position Overview
The Production Technology Associate Manager supports and leads technical initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, improve equipment reliability, and minimize production downtime. This role focuses on preventive measures to reduce equipment stoppages, utility and infrastructure management for new equipment installation, and the development of standardized production documentation. Acting as a key liaison among Engineering, Production, Quality, and Facilities teams, this position ensures stable, efficient, and safe manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce equipment
downtime. - Collaborate closely with Maintenance and Production teams to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Work with HQ engineering teams to improve and optimize production facilities.
- Learn and benchmark new production technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Manage and update plant layout drawings (AutoCAD).
- Lead and maintain 3C/5S activities across manufacturing areas.
- Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new production equipment.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
- Develop, update, and standardize production documentation, including Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Process FMEA (P-FMEA) and Control Plans, and Setup sheets, checklists, and engineering standards
- Plan and oversee utility works (electrical, HVAC, compressed air, network cabling, etc.) for new equipment installations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental
requirements. - Coordinate with facilities teams, contractors, and equipment suppliers to ensure timely utility readiness.
- Manage project scope, budget, and schedules for utility-related projects.
- Lead and support a team of engineers and technical specialists for production technology initiatives.
- Provide technical training to operators and technicians on new equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment and facilities.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize production impact.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of critical spare parts and tools.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to ensure facility and equipment compliance.
- Identify and implement process optimization opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Use data-driven analysis to enhance operational performance.
- Lead automation, digitalization, and predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Drive projects that reduce operating costs and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other applicable
standards. - Coordinate and support internal and external ISO audits.
- Maintain required documentation, training records, and corrective action plans.
- Work cross-functionally to sustain certifications and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing technology or engineering roles.
- Strong analytical skills, including labor rate analysis and performance monitoring.
- Experience with automation systems, robotics, and production management software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and production-related software tools.
- Strong project management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and collaborate effectively across engineering, production, quality, and facilities teams.
- Bilingual in Korean and English is required.
