Position Overview


Production Planning Manager lays a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing the production processes of the organization. This role involves developing production plans, scheduling
workflows, and ensuring efficient utilization of resources to meet production targets while maintaining high quality standards. The Production Planning Manager collaborates closely with various departments such as manufacturing, procurement, and logistics to streamline operations and achieve optimal efficiency.
 

Responsibilities


1. Production Planning:

  • Develop short-term and long-term production plans based on product demand forecasts, resource availability, and production capacity.
  • Forecasting production to prevent lack of components for manufacturing
    Analyze capacity constraints and recommend actions (e.g., overtime, outsourcing, equipment investment) to balance supply and demand

2. Scheduling:

  • Create and maintain production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders while maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime.

3. Resource Allocation:

  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Manager to ensure availability of raw materials (bolts, nuts, washers and etc.), components, and equipment necessary for production.


4. Capacity Planning:

  • Monitor production capacity and identify bottlenecks or constraints in the production process, implementing strategies to optimize resource utilization.

5. Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with production manager to ensure adherence to quality standards and implement measures to address any quality issues that may arise during production.

6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in production workflows, implementing best practices to enhance overall operational performance.

7. Risk Management:

  • Anticipate and mitigate potential risks that may impact production schedules or quality standards, implementing contingency plans as necessary.
  • WMS and ERP system is not matched with warehouse, production planning manager should fix it to make it same.

8. Modification Work Order in ERP system.

  • When modification work order is needed, Production Planning manager should conduct it with ERP system.
  • When conduct modification work order through ERP, classify the waste item and inventory item that will be used.


9. Operating and maintaining ERP and WMS System:

  • Operating ERP and WMS system for production.
  • Co-work with SCM manager to manage stock items for production.
  • When ERP and WMS system has problem, production planning manager should fix it with headquarter members.
  • Supervise and coordinate IT maintenance activities, including ERP and WMS systems in Bastrop Campus.

10. Ordering parts and products:

  • Order insufficient production parts and products to avoid disruption to the production schedule.
  • Co-work with Chicago’s SCM manager and headquarters to order production parts and products on time.

11. Manager Standard Work Order in ERP system:

  •  Manage all work orders in production
  • Optimize work order system to increase production efficiency
     
Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related fields
  • Previous experience in production planning, manufacturing, or operations management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills preferred.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with supply chain software systems (e.g., ERP, WMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other productivity tools.
  • Certified forklift operator is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Korean and English required
