Responsibilities
- Works closely with government trade offices in order to maximize business opportunities, and participates at public relations activities.
- Monitors and reports US political and economic issues (International trade, steel and other related manufacturing industries)
- Develops, revises and implements internal compliance policies and procedures, screening, training and audits pertaining to trade compliance issues
- Assists in managing the development and implementation of lobbying strategies including coordination with outside counsel, industry allies, legislators and regulators
- Assists in monitoring the company’s priority government relations issues such as the U.S. Government’s international trade policies and keep the management informed about major changes and their implications
- Assists in developing and managing strategy for expanding the company’s corporate social responsibility activities
- Develops familiarity with steel market regulation; attends industry-related conferences, seminars and research analyst meetings to gather information
- Assists in planning and implementing events and other activities to support the company’s government relations goals
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of experience in government relations
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail with ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written communications and writing skills required
- Bilingual in Korean and English required.
