Position Overview


The Field Services Engineer role provides remote and on-site engineering support for site projects executed by the Company. This role is involved in the operation and maintenance of power conversion systems, battery storage systems, and PLC control systems. Tasks will include system commissioning, electrical maintenance, and repairs. Work will be done primarily at the locations where equipment is in operation, but some work will also be executed from a remote location and/or a nearby the Company's office location. 
 
Responsibilities

 

  • Dispatch to project locations
  • Troubleshoot operation of power conversion and battery storage systems when not operational
  • Maintenance of equipment – including torque of connections, cleaning of filters, repair or replace components
  • PLC operation
  • HMI/OIT operation
  • Interface with the LS Energy Solutions design center
  • BESS pre-commissioning and installation supervision 
  • BESS hot commissioning
  • Communicate with local client staff
  • Write reports to document project outcomes – defects reports, maintenance reports, and commissioning reports
  • Estimated travel: 70% to 90%
  • Occasional overtime and weekend time will be required for this role 
     
Requirements

 

  • Degree in engineering, computer science, or similar fields
  • 0-5 years of prior experience in field service operations
  • Power engineering – drives, motors, and inverters
  • Battery engineering and design
  • PLC programming experience – CODESYS preferred 
  • HMI/OIT programming experience
  • Safety systems operation – battery preferred
  • Fire control systems design and operation
  • PCS testing experience • BESS testing experience 
  • Bilingual in Korean and English
