Position Overview

The AE Team Leader plays an active role in the development and completion of projects, meets and reports back to Upper Management, plans and monitors work schedules and cash flows within budget, works with multiple and diverse teams, aligns engineering activities and projects with Company goals and objectives, provides expert guidance and support, and maintains positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The candidate will also manage all phases of the application engineering for Machine Tool products, which includes both short-term and long-term strategies to meet or exceed customer requirements, and will approve and maintain engineered designs of assigned products, etc.




  • Identify and drive Application Engineering strategies and resources for assigned segment/technologies
  • Provide technical strategies and direction for key markets, applications, product lines, and Key Accounts to achieve business goals
  • Act as technical business partner in the Global/Regional decision-making body responsible for business results
  • Support services, KAM, Business Development, and Technical Center operations
  • Work with other departments (service, production, tooling, marketing, dealers, etc.)
  • Drive customer intimacy with the Company's top global customers
  • Collaborate and lead globally on best practices, processes, and tools
  • Represent the Company via presentations, publications, and participation in industry and trade associations
  • Develop and manage global work teams to support key initiatives and programs
  • Identify relevant global industry/customer specifications and ensure companies to relevant laws/Company policies
  • Identifies innovative partnerships
  • Operate AE team along pre-approved budgets and corporate plans and supervise its members with assessing and enhancing their performance
  • Research and analyze the engineering design of assigned products, systems, and components
  • Participate and assist in planning of product specifications, timelines, and resource requirements
  • Prepares and participates in product presentations to venders, customers, and internally to other departments
  • Direct and analyze results of tests on prototypes and production machines
  • Create structured training programs on technologies with global relevance
  • Support the Company's continued leadership in its major markets by guiding new products
  • Be aware of trends and developments in product designs from vender contacts, workshops and meetings, and industry and div. contacts
  • Drive the innovation pipeline
  • Identify global market trends and needs, including how to address the competition
  • Provide constant focus on improvements in product development processes and systems
  • Lead improvements in the areas of quality, safety, and the system cost of products
  • Long-range Planning for budgets and resources for a group of products


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • 3 or more years’ experience of MCT/TC operations
  • 5 or more years' managerial experience
  • Performance management, incl. establishing KPIs
  • Showroom and demo-cutting
  • Fluent English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail oriented
  • Capability to give technical consultations with customers
  • Knowledge of tooling, chucking, jig/fixture, machine specs. and required options analysis
  • Knowledge of the specs of peripheral devices such as chip c/v
  • Designing layout configurations
  • Deep Knowledge of Machine Tool applications
